From the oldest cars to the ones yet to be featured, the British spy has ridden in style for the entirety of his career. Perhaps the best part of a new Bond release is getting to witness which new vehicles will be flaunted next. In honour of the latest movie No Time to Die, which is set to be released next year, let’s take a trip down memory lane and look back at some of James Bond’s most attractive sets of wheels.

Aston Martin DB5
Out of all Aston Martins featured in the film series, the unforgettable Aston Martin DB5 is perhaps the most famous because of its appearance in the 1964 film Goldfinger, the third Bond instalment. Even though this car may seem outdated today in 2020, it was the company’s newest model at the time of production. Sean Connery, the iconic James Bond of his era, went on to star in other Bond films such as Thunderball (1965) using the same car. Fans of the series will always attach this car to the famous movies as it’s a huge symbol of the franchise.
Aston Martin DBS V12
Every James Bond fan knows that the Aston Martin DBS is driven by the British spy in the 007 film Casino Royale (2006) and the hit that came two years later, Quantum of Solace. In the blockbuster movie Casino Royale, Bond goes head-to-head with enemy Le Chiffre in a nail-biting game of Texas Hold’em, beating the Albanian banker with a surprising straight flush in the final scene. He wins $120 million and proves to the audience the benefits of knowing the fundamentals of how to play poker in such a situation. The flashy car features throughout the movie and in one iconic scene, Bond crashes the expensive vehicle after an intense high-speed car chase through the streets of Czechia. Needless to say, this model from the British luxury manufacturer will never be forgotten.
Lotus Esprit S1
Actor Roger Moore switches things up in the film The Spy Who Loved Me as he defies the land-based car chases common to other Bond films and plunges underwater instead in the Lotus Espirit SI, which perfectly transforms into a submarine and continues in pursuit of the bad guy. The 1997 film features one of the best and most unique cars in the 007 series. An interesting fact: businessman Elon Musk has been the proud of owner of Wet Nellie, the car’s famous nickname, since 2013.

BMW Z8
Featured in the 1999 film, The World is Not Enough, the BMW Z8 is a roadster tricked out with many gadgets. The German vehicle has also made appearances in several video-games such as 007 Racing, and the recent DLC Best of Bond Car. With titanium armor and an internal tracking system, fans loved watching this car speed through city streets with actor Pierce Brosnan behind the wheel. Unfortunately, the car was cut in half by a helicopter and not used again. However, it will always be remembered for the time that it did spend on the screen.
Aston Martin DBS Superleggera and Aston Martin Valhalla
Every fan wonders after the conclusion of a Bond film – which amazing car will be featured next? Especially now that vehicles are more advanced than they’ve ever been, there is even more anticipation. In 2021, Daniel Craig is expected to drive four amazing Aston Martins throughout the new film, No Time to Die. Two of those four will be the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera and the Aston Martin Valhalla. Sleek, elegant, and overall extremely impressive looking cars, these Astons most certainly have a need for speed. However, the truth is that no matter what car is featured in the Bond movies of the past, present, or future, the dynasty will always be known to showcase some of the most iconic cars on any movie backdrop.
