Jeep is following up on the recently refreshed Grand Wagoneer with another equally grand makeover. This is the 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee, ushering in a slew of updates including a nip and tuck, a new powertrain — sadly, not the one you’re probably hoping for — and of course, more screen.
Leading the updates for 2026 is a new engine option, but don’t get too excited. Refreshed Grand Cherokees from the Laredo Altitude trim and up are now powered by the newest member of Stellantis’ Hurricane family — a 2.0-litre turbo-four putting out 324 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, paired to the same eight-speed automatic and four-wheel-drive system as before. Towing capacity punches in at 6,200 pounds.
The Grand Cherokee’s previous powertrains carry over unchanged for 2026. The 292-horsepower Pentastar V6 is still available, but now locked to the two entry-level Laredo and Laredo X trims. Jeep will continue to offer the Grand Cherokee 4xe PHEV as well, albeit still running Stellantis’ previous-gen turbo-four. If you’re hoping for a Hurricane inline-six-powered Grand Cherokee, or a return of the Hemi, keep holding your breath.

The 2026 Grand Cherokee receives a nip-and-tuck to go along with the new powertrain. Look closely and you’ll pick out the restyled front and rear fascias, a tweaked front grille design flanked by subtly reworked headlights, and a handful of new colour and trim options. Inside, look for an upsized 12.3-inch touchscreen handling infotainment, as well as a tweaked centre stack that, unfortunately, swaps out the buttons-and-knobs for a haptic-feedback touch panel.
Canadian pricing for the 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee is still under wraps, but Stellantis says they’ll be in dealers by the end of this year.
