After the reveal of the next generation Toyota Supra or FT-1 that debuted at the Detroit Motor Show earlier this year, Toyota has introduced two new variants; the FT-1 Gran Turismo and the FT-1 Graphite.
The FT-1 Vision Gran Turismo, created to celebrate Playstation’s Gran Turismo video game series’ 15th anniversary, it stand out thanks to an even more aggressive appearance with a new front splitter, air vents over the wheel arches, deep side skirts, and rounding out the back is a wide air diffuser that is integrated into the bumper. New multispoke center-locking wheels wrapped in low-profile tires and a massive rear spoiler completely made up of carbon fibre give this car a track ready look.
The second version, named the FT-1 Graphite, is nearly identical to the original FT-1 but it gains a dark gray paint job with a tan leather interior. Toyota states that this Graphite version gives the Ft-1 a more sophisticated feel. This is a big contrast compared to the race-inspired red show car that was presented in Detroit this past January.
Toyota hopes models like the upcoming FT-1 inspired coupe will bring the automaker back to its motorsport years. The FT-1 is likely to go on sale in 2016, meaning the final version will probably be revealed at a major auto show next year. Expect the pricing to start in the $100,000 range.
