Transformer geeks and kiddies mark your calendars: the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro will be revealed on May 16th on Detroit’s Belle Isle.
Belle Isle, a 982-acre island park owned by the city of Detroit, is home to the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Island Grand Prix, which runs from May 29-31st.
According to Todd Christensen, Camaro’s marketing manager, the event will be one “fans will not want to miss”, as it is only the sixth time GM has introduced an all-new Camaro.
The event, expected to bring about a thousand people, also includes a Camaro museum, hot-lap rides in a 2015 Camaro Z/28, a meet-and-greet with engineers and designers, as well as a designated Camaro-only parking for owners.
The Camaro’s new retro-looking badge was also revealed, looking much wider than its predecessor.
GM has also released a sound clip of the new Camaro’s beautiful purr on its website. Click here to check it out.
