Chevrolet has good news for the jean-shorts-and-New-Balance crowd: the Goldilocks of the Corvette lineup is back. Not only that, there’s now two of ’em.

Following a brief tease at the 12 Hours of Sebring race last weekend, Chevy has fully unveiled the 2027 Corvette Grand Sport. It’s precisely what you’d expect, packing a long list of Z06 hardware but skipping the forced-induction engine. Oh, about that: the Grand Sport debuts a new engine for the Corvette lineup, too.

The new Grand Sport is powered by Chevy’s newly developed normally aspirated V8 engine. Dubbed the LS6, this new 6.7-litre V8 puts out 535 horsepower and 520 pound-feet of torque, hooked up to an eight-speed automatic and powering just the rear wheels. It gets a 13.0:1 compression ratio, a larger throttle body, a revised intake design, and an extra half-litre of displacement thanks to a longer stroke. Chevy will stuff the LS6 into the base Stingray, too, effectively giving it 45-horsepower bump

But if 500-plus horses won’t cut it, the also-new-for-2027 Corvette Grand Sport X ought to fit the bill nicely. With X now signifying all-wheel-drive ‘Vettes, the E-Ray becomes the Grand Sport X, pairing its otherworldly hybrid powertrain with the new LS6 V8. Chevy hasn’t confirmed any performance figures, but the hybrid end pitches in the same 186 horses as before, bringing the grand total to a whopping 721 hp.

Whether you opt for the hybrid or not, all Grand Sports get the Z06’s widebody and magnetic dampers standard. The brakes are also new and supposedly more resistant to brake dust and corrosion, because when it rains at Cars and Coffee, you can wipe off raindrops with spray wax, but you can’t wipe down rusty brakes. Both Grand Sports can be equipped with the Z52 Performance Package, which adds a stiffer suspension setup, swaps in the Z06’s iron brakes, and trades the Michelin Pilot Sport AS4 all-season tires for Pilot Sport 4S summer rubber.

And if that won’t cut it, adding the Track Performance pack adds even more aggressive tires — Cup 2Rs, if you’re curious — as well as the Z06’s carbon ceramic brakes and a variety of carbon fibre aero bits. The Track pack is only available on the Grand Sport, but the X gets the carbon-ceramics standard, anyway. A new centre-exit quad exhaust layout similar to the C7 is available on both variants, as well as the base Stingray.

Both Grand Sports differentiate themselves from the rest of the Corvette lineup visually with the aforementioned Z06 widebody, along with optional — and iconic to the Grand Sport — hash marks that now adorn the rear fenders. Chevy also brought back Admiral Blue from the C4-generation Grand Sport, and inside, the Grand Sport gets the same revised interior layout as the rest of the Corvette lineup. A Launch Edition kicks things up with a unique all-blue interior and other visual bits, but it’ll be a one-year-only affair.

Production of the 2027 Corvette Grand Sport, Grand Sport X, and the updated Stingray kicks off later this summer. They’ll be in dealers by the end of the year, just in time to spend winter in climate-controlled garages. Pricing is still under wraps, but we don’t expect it to stray far from the E-Ray’s $150,000 price tag.
