Happy Friday! Welcome to this week’s edition of the Official DoubleClutch.ca News Rundown, where we recap the top automotive headlines from the week that was in one convenient package. Let’s go.
Lincoln reportedly considering Lexus GX, Mercedes G-Wagen rival

Lincoln is looking to take on luxe off-roaders with one of its own by 2030.
According to “sources” who anonymously spoke to Autoweek, the new model will be a two-row SUV based on the same platform as the Ford Bronco. Think Navigator-like styling on a Bronco, which is fun to think about. The above image is purely tongue-in-cheek and should in no way, shape, or form be considered even remotely official from Ford.
That said, the new luxe off-roader already sounds legit. Lincoln is reportedly targeting the Lexus GX and Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen with this new model, supposedly due out sometime between 2029 and 2030 with a Black Label-approved interior It’ll likely be priced well above the Navigator, but we can’t see it reaching the stratospheric levels of the G-Wagen.
Lamborghini’s upcoming EV became a PHEV

Remember the Lamborghini Lanzador concept?
Of course you don’t, so here’s a quick refresher: it was a high-riding, two-door Lamborghini concept that debuted in 2023 previewing the marque’s future EV. It was said to have all-wheel-drive, one electric motor on each axle, and more than 1,340 horsepower.
Alas, in a recent inteview with the Sunday Times — hat tip to our friends at Le Guide de l’Auto — Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann says there’s “close to zero” demand for an electric Lambo.
Instead, the production version will become a plug-in hybrid, with Winkelmann adding they’re “the best of both worlds” for combining the agility of low-end electric boost with the “emotion” of a gas engine. Of course, having the electric end to meet Europe’s increasingly tight emissions standards sure is nice, too.
Expect to see a production-spec Lamborghini Lanzador debut for production in 2029.
Genesis prices 2026 G70 Graphite

A new trim level is joining the Genesis G70 lineup for 2026. If you’re thinking, “hey, didn’t you already talk about that?” The answer is yes.
The G70 Graphite debuted at the Los Angeles Auto Show last November, but now, we know how much all that dress-up will cost. At $69,500 all-in, the Graphite sits atop the G70 lineup. It’s based on the top-spec trim with the 3.3L twin-turbo V6 and 365 horsepower under the hood, but dressed up with various extras you don’t get elsewhere in the G70 lineup.
For starters, the car’s finished in Makalu Grey Matte, with dark chrome accents all over, black mirror caps and Brembo brake calipers, and 19-inch mesh wheels. Inside, the navy blue seats with orange stitching are exclusive to the Graphite, but the rest of it is fairly standard issue.
As far as performance upgrades go, there’s a 10-millimetre ride height reduction, and not much else.
