Mazda’s best-selling CX-5 is getting a major makeover for 2026, promising more style, more space, and more tech. Of course, to get more, you have to pay more, so let’s take a (trim) walk.

The 2026 CX-5 kicks off at $36,100 for the entry-level GX trim. That’s a $3,400 increase over a 2025 GX, but you do get more bells and whistles than before to justify the jump. New standard niceties over the ’25 include a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment, an eight-speaker sound system, built-in nav, and dual-zone climate control, but you’re relegated to manually adjustable cloth seats and plugging in your phone to use CarPlay and Android Auto.

The GS trim sits a step above, at $39,200. That adds niceties like a power liftgate, auto-fold mirrors, cloth-and-leatherette seats that’s power-adjustable but only on the driver’s side, a heated steering wheel, wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, larger 19-inch wheels, heads-up display, and a lot more. We can see this becoming the volume seller of the lineup, even if that price tag represents a $2,450 bump over a 2025 GS. It’s worth noting compared to a 2025 GS with the Comfort Package, which includes most of these niceties, that’s only a $300 bump.

Next up is the GT trim. For $42,200, you get signature LED lighting, gloss black exterior accents, Mazda’s usual Bose sound system, leather upholstery, cooled front seats and heated rear seats, ambient lighting, and more. That’s an extra $400 versus a 2025 GT. New to upper-trim 2026 CX-5s is a panoramic sunroof; spec the GT Panoramic Roof Package and that’ll run you $44,200.

The final rung above that is the GT Premium Package, which for $46,700, adds a 15.6 touchscreen for infotainment, a hands-free liftgate, paddle shifters, and a driver monitoring system. That’s the range-topping trim for now, representing a $1,150 jump over the previous top-trim Signature.

We’ll be getting behind the wheel of the 2026 Mazda CX-5 in February, right before they hit dealers this spring.
