Honda has just pulled the covers off its 2018 Accord. For the 10th generation of this midsized sedan, Honda introduces a brand new exterior design and new technology throughout, including the world’s first 10-speed automatic.2018 Honda Accord Touring

The progressive exterior styling features a lower and longer (thanks to an extended wheelbase) design with a sloping roofline – nothing like its predecessors. These characteristics provide a more athletic stance with a “premium look”. Both front and rear fascias have been updated with LED headlights and taillights that resemble more bloated versions of those on the 10th generation Civic. Overall, the design contributes to an increase in aerodynamic efficiency.2018 Honda Accord Touring

Sitting on a longer platform, the 2018 Honda Accord delivers 75mm more of rear legroom and increases the amount of passenger volume by 70.8L. The driver’s seat adopts a more sporty driving position which creates a more involved driver experience. Passengers will appreciate more heavily padded seats and soft-touch interior panels that create a comfortable cabin. Technology finds it way into the cabin with a 7-inch driver information system and a (software) customizable 8-inch Display Audio touchscreen with physical volume and tuning knobs. A 6-inch Heads Up Display is also available on the touring trim furthering the premium feel of the Accord. 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid

Under the hood, buyers will have the choice between a new 1.5-liter turbo 4-cylinder that produces 192 HP and 192 lb.-ft. of torque; or a new 2.0-liter turbo 4-cylinder that shares most of its design with the new Type R motor and produces 252 HP with 273 lb.-ft. of torque. The 1.5-liter will be paired to either a CVT or a 6-speed manual, while the 2.0-liter will be paired to the new 10-speed auto or an optional 6-speed manual (when opting for the Sport trim). Notably, the new lineup of the Honda Accord will include a Hybrid variant with two trimlines.

Preparing for the future, all 2018 Honda Accord’s will feature the full suite of Honda Sensing safety and driver-assistance features.
