If you’re looking to up your car game with something super fun and stylish, look no further than the 2017 Fiat 124 Spider, which made its Canadian debut today at the Canadian International AutoShow.
Since the vehicle’s birth in 1966, the 124 Spider has gone through some major changes. This 2017 model features a hexagonal upper grille, signature LED head and tail lights and power domes on the front hood, which are a nod to the second generation 124 spider, where the domes were necessary in order to fit the larger engines at the time.
Inside, the 124 Spider was built for comfort. The steering wheel, shift knob and seats are wrapped in smooth leather, the interior is made of soft materials (little to no hard plastic here) and the 3-gauge instrument panel has the rev counter smack dab in the middle.
Under the hood of this two-seater lays a 1.4-litre MultiAir Turbo four-cylinder engine, delivering 140 horsepower with a max torque of 240Nm.
The convertible is available in two models: Classica and Lusso. The latter boasts standard 17-inch alloy wheels, silver-painted A-pillar header and roll-bar cover, dual-tip chrome exhaust as well as fog lamps. Inside, the Lusso seats are wrapped in leather, available in “Nero” (black) or “Saddle”.
Both models are available in eight colours: Rosso Passione (Solid Red, pictured here), Bianco Gelato (Solid White), Nero Vesuvio (Black Metallic), Grigio Argento (Gray Metallic), Grigio Moda (Dark Gray Metallic) Bronzo Magnetico (Bronze Metallic), Azzurro Italia (Azure Metallic) and tri-coat Bianco Ghiaccio.
