When it comes to heavy-duty trucks, the Nissan Titan Warrior Concept was the ultimate mic-drop at this year’s North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
Feeding the truck consumer’s appetite for bigger trucks with a more heavy-duty look and feel, the Titan Warrior Concept is powered by a 5.0-litre V8 turbo diesel engine.
From the outside, the truck is more menacing and beefier than the 2016 Nissan Titan XD, with a front resembling a snarling lion ready to pounce. The wheelbase and length remained the same as its predecessor, but the concept’s height was raised almost three inches from 78.7 to 81.5. It sits atop four 37-inch tall off-road tires mounted on custom 18×9.5 inch aluminum alloy wheels- talk about badass.
The designers had a concept for the concept called “modern armour”, which is exactly what the truck looks like on the exterior. The custom LED headlights and rear lights (which, by the way, take the form of a “T”) add to the concept’s rugged demeanor. The Titan Warrior Concept’s matte-gunmetal paint is called “Thunder” and is accented with “Magma” orange and black colour highlights.
Nissan designed the interior to be as comfortable as possible and to absorb as much of the abuse as the exterior was getting from off-road use. The seats are wrapped in carbon-coloured high-strength seat fabric with “magma” orange accents. The concept also features a custom-built steering wheel, hot-and-cold drink containers in the centre console and instrument panel-mounted auxiliary gauges.
