Mercedes-Benz has managed to squeeze an additional 20hp out of its AMG four-bangers, the CLA45 and the GLA45. This power upgrade is part of a 2016 refresh for the sedan and compact SUV pair. The 20hp is also accompanied by an additional 18 lb-ft of torque coming from the 2.0 litre turbocharged engine.
The 2016 models of the GLA45 AMG and the CLA45 AMG will now provide 375hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. This new power allows the GLA45 AMG to run a 4.3 second 0-60 mph time, which is half a second faster than its predecessor. The CLA45 AMG will now tread into SL63 AMG territory by managing a 4.1 second time.
Mercedes has also added a new “Race” mode as part of the Dynamic Plus Package, which also includes an “M” button for manual mode, and a new dynamic select system. Furthermore, standard features are now to include: a 7-inch display infotainment system, keyless start, dual-zone climate control, and Turbo 4matic side fender badges. To sweeten the deal further, you won’t have to wait long as it will be available at your local dealer later this year.
