Following its debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the 2016 Mazda CX-5 has made its Canadian debut in Toronto during the Canadian International Auto Show.

Opting for the CX-5’s Technology Package gives you the option of redesigned LED headlamps and rear combination lamps that also feature an LED lighting signature.  First launched in 2012, the SUV has four 19-inch aluminum wheels and a lineup of nine colours which include Sonic Silver Metallic and Titanium Flash Mica.

The five-seater is powered by either a 2.0 or 2.5-litre SkyActiv gasoline engine and is coupled with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. The 2.0-litre engine can pump out 155 horsepower, while the 2.5 can drive up to 184 hp.  The CX-5 also adopted an Electrical Parking Brake (EPB) as well as the Mazda Connect, which makes it easier to connect to the internet and use social networking services.

The interior, available in black leather or fabric (black or sand), is just as enticing. Neither space or storage should be a problem with the CX-5 : there is an open space in front of the shift knob, cup holders and storage for smaller items as well as a console box and front door pockets. As for comfort, Mazda has extended the length of the rear seat cushions to offer a natural, relaxed seating position.

Stay tuned for more CIAS updates.
