The new Ford Fusion is said to be the smartest and most technology packed yet. Offering an array of powertrain options and the latest technology in the Fusion, Ford hopes to lead the way for North American vehicles.
The Fusion comes with 5 available engine options. All-wheel drive is available for most models. Trim-level specific, the V6 Sport comes with a 2.7 Liter twin-turbo V6, producing 325HP and 350lb.-ft. of torque. The Platinum is a more refined experience, offering a 2.0 Liter ecoboost. The Hybrid and Energi, Ford’s plug-in hybrids, come with new software for an engaging drive and more efficient electric motors contribute to better fuel economy and a longer range.
Each model has its own set of offerings. The V6 Sport comes with more performance oriented features including continuously controlled damping for real-time suspension tuning which adjusts ride quality based on road conditions, an aggressive exterior with deeper air intakes and a gloss black-finish mesh grille, 19-inch wheels, rear spoiler and dual twin exhaust outlets, and of course, the twin-tubo V6. The Platinum has a stronger focus on fit and finish, with premium quality materials appointed throughout the cabin.
Ford’s focus on technology is more prominent in the Hybrid and Energi. Both models include real-time driver coaching (EcoGuide) to help achieve the greatest fuel efficiency. Smaller, more powerful batteries help save weight and space, and the Energi can charge to full within 2.5hours.
Technology options for all models include, Ford’s first, pedestrian detection system, lane-keeping assist, blind spot alert and a new, more intuitive SYNC system.
The all new Ford Fusion arrives this summer with the V6 Sport arriving a little later.
