Kia has announced pricing for the all-electric 2026 EV9—but there’s some good news, and some less-than-good news here.
The good news? The EV9 still starts at $59,995 for the entry-level, rear-wheel-drive Light trim. For that, you continue to get 218 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque; it also retains the 76.1 kWh battery pack, meaning you’re good for up to 370 kilometres of range. You also still get niceties like heated and cooled seats dual 12.3-inch screens making up the gauge cluster and infotainment, and Kia’s full suite of active safety and driver assists.
The Wind trim sits a rung above, still coming in at $62,995. It still swaps out the standard battery pack for a larger 99.8 kWh unit, still resulting in a range bump to 491 kilometres. Output remains unchanged, at 203 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. Kia also sweetens the deal with a heated steering wheel, a 14-speaker Meridian sound system, and a heat pump—which should really be standard on all EV9s—among other bells-and-whistles.
All-wheel-drive still requires stepping up to the Land trim, once again remaining unchanged at $64,995. It retains the larger battery pack, but the additional electric motor up front gives it a hefty bump to 379 horsepower, 516 pound-feet of torque, and 455 kilometres of range. From there, Kia has shuffled a few things—the available Plus package is gone, and Premium package will now set you back an extra $500, at $75,495. The previously range-topping Land GT-Line holds at $78,995; the souped-up EV9 GT is now the range-topping trim, but pricing hasn’t been announced just yet.
As for the less-than-good-news? The closely related, new-for-2026 Hyundai Ioniq 9 is a better deal. It covers a nearly identical price spread but boasts significantly more range than any comparable EV9 due to its much larger, 111 kWh battery pack. We were counting on the EV9 receiving the same upsized battery pack throughout the lineup starting next year, but it appears as though we have to wait at least another model year.
The 2026 EV9 is in dealers now, but do yourself a favour: check out the Ioniq 9 first.
