Infiniti has unveiled the stunning Q60 Coupe at the North American International AutoShow in Detroit, giving journalists a feast for the eyes.

In true Infiniti fashion, the exterior catches your attention with its bold character lines and sharp angles.  The front features a double-arch grille and crescent-sharped C-pillars, as well as LED headlights which have Light Guide Technology to spread light evenly across the road. The Q60 sits atop four standard 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, and the sports coupe offers an optional 20-inch wheels.  To keep with its low, powerful stance, the spaces between the Q60’s tires and wheel arches have also been tightened.

What is most interesting is the brand new high-performance 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo engine. The Q60 “VR30” engine is available in two power ratings: 300 hp or 400 hp, to please the speed demon in you. For those not needing so many ponies under the hood, a four-cylinder 2.0-litre gasoline engine is available, turbocharged to produce about 208 hp.

Taking a peek inside, the new 2017 Infiniti Q60 coupe is both lower and wider than its predecessors, giving driver and passengers a little bit more wiggle room. The base model features all aluminum trim while the Sport and Premium trim models are given the carbon-fibre treatment. The version with red and white leather seats receive a silver glass fibre accent. If music is your mantra, you’ll be happy to know that the Q60 will be fitted with an all-new 13-speaker Bose Performance Series sound system.

The Q60 also has a myriad of driving assistance technologies, including the Direct Adaptive Steering, which transmits the driver’s input to the wheels quicker than a mechanical system. It also generates feedback about road surface,  chassis behaviour and also reduces unwanted steering feel. Models that are equipped with the 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo engine also feature Electronic Power Steering. Other safety technologies include Around View Monitor, Lane Departure Prevention, Blind Spot Intervention, Intelligent Cruise Control with Distance Control Assist and Backup Collision Intervention.

The 2017 Infiniti Q60 will hit the sales floor in late summer of this year.
