Jaguar is looking to the future with the release of its I-PACE concept vehicle. The I-PACE is an electric SUV that the company brands as an “electric-performance SUV”. This is Jaguar’s first electric-concept SUV that could be a worthy contender in a currently unsaturated market.

Jaguar aims to launch the I-PACE in 2018. It will be branded as  a “five-seater sports car; a performance car, a family car and an SUV all in one”, and its unique design highlights this. With a low roofline, aerodynamic shape and aggressive stance, the I-PACE brings bold, premium style to an eco-conscious vehicle all while maintaining key Jaguar design elements found in the F-Pace. Being an electric vehicle helps attribute to the design and safety of the vehicle.HyperFocal: 0

As with contenders in the segment, the I-PACE will boast instant acceleration and zero emissions. From its batteries, over 500km of range will be available with a fast charging system that brings the battery to over 80% in around 2 hours. The I-PACE is estimated to go 0-100km/h in around 4 seconds. Ride quality and handling will mirror that of Jaguar’s sports cars. HyperFocal: 0

A focus on quality and technology continues inside. The interior maintains Jaguar’s lush and luxurious finish with premium materials and design. Incorporated into the design are three screens. Two touchscreens serve as information and controls systems providing functionality while another solely provides a driver information system. Completing the interior is a full- length panoramic glass roof that brightens the interior.

The Jaguar I-PACE is an eco-conscious, fashion statement that has the get up-and-go to make it a viable contender in the electric vehicle segment.
