Bugatti has officially unveiled the Chiron today at the 2016 Geneva International Motor Show.

This monstrous beast was actually released online yesterday, but those of you who want to see the Chiron in all its beauty will need to head over to the beautiful land of Geneva, Switzerland.

Chiron 3

Meant to be the Veyron’s successor, the Chiron has some pretty big tires to fill, as the Veyron pumped out about 1,200 horsepower. But the Chiron, as expected, tops that by pumping out 1,500 ponies. The Veyron also held the world’s record with a 267.8 mph run, but the Chiron is expected to hit about 290 mph.

The Chiron’s 8.0-litre W16 engine comes with four larger two-stage turbochargers and produces approximately 1,180 lb-ft of torque. This supercar can also go 0-62 mph in less than 2.5 seconds – Drake would be proud.

Chiron 2

If you’d like to up the ante, you’ll be happy to know that the Chiron can also hit 124 mph in under 6.5 seconds and 186 mph in just 13.5 seconds. For a few hours, it seemed as though the Bugatti Chiron’s title as fastest car in the world was challenged when the Koenigsegg Regera was introduced. The Regera can hit 186 mph in 10.9 seconds, making it, in a way, faster than the Chiron. However, the Chiron’s top speed of 261 mph still tops the Regera’s 249 mph.

From the outside, the Bugatti Chiron is certainly a sight to behold. Featuring its signature horseshoe grille, the Chiron is available in eight different colours. It is also slightly taller, wider and longer than the Veyron.

If you thought $1 million is enough for this bad boy, think again. The Chiron could be yours if you can cut a big fat cheque for $2.6 million. If you’re thinking about buying one, you’d best hurry- Bugatti is only planning to make about 500 of these and they’ve already sold a third.
