The 10th generation Civic brings with it several new safety technologies, including Collision Mitigation Braking, Road Departure Mitigation and, brand new to Honda, Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow.

Under the hood, the Civic sedan LX and EX trims will feature a 2.0-litre, i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine, mated to either a 6-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The Civic sedan EX-T and Touring will be powered by a 1.5-litre, direct-injected, turbocharged DOHC inline-4, mated to a CVT.

The new Civic sedan is 20mm lower than the current model and has a longer wheelbase (30 mm). The vehicle’s total rigidity has also been improved by 25 per cent, partially because 12 per cent of the body is made of ultra high-strength steel. But despite all the improvements, the weight of the car is still 31 kg lighter than the current Civic – you go, Honda.

2016 Honda Civic released
Since debuting its first generation back in 1973, Honda has sold over 1.8 million Civics in the Canadian market.
