Not Sure If It Will Keep The Sharks Out, But It Looks Great Volkswagen has engineered a new and awesome way to one-up last year’s Beetle Shark Cage- by making it a Convertible.
When it comes to an annually televised week devoted to a man-eating fish, you might think that it’s all been done- apparently Volkswagen disagrees. As the presenting sponsor of Discovery Channel’s Shark Week for the second year in a row, VW has engineered a new and awesome way to one-up last year’s Beetle Shark Cage- by making it a Convertible.
Now, at this point you can’t really call it a cage so much as a brilliant piece of automotive marketing, but all the same you’ve got to love what VW has done with it. Giving viewers a 360-degree underwater look at what is surrounding the shark cage is VW’s “Subaquatic Road Trip,” designed to up the social and mobile experience for viewers, not to mention the wow-factor.
Look for the Beetle Shark cage at the beginning of this year’s Shark Week, starting August 4.
