Aston brings another supercar into the mixThe Volante definitely impresses
Right after the V12 Vantage S graces the auto world, Aston come out with more supercars – The Vanquish Volante and the CC100 Speedster concept.
The Volante is powered by the 6.0L ‘AM11′ V12, same as the Vanquish coupe, producing 565 MHP and 457 LB-FT of torque. Accelerating to 62 MPH in 4.3 seconds, the car reaches a top speed of 183 MPH. It drives the rear wheels and uses a ‘Touchtronic 2′ 6-speed automatic gearbox. Peak HP is producedd at 6,750 RPM while full torque is produced at 5,500 RPM.
The triple-skinned lightweight fabric roof folds under a tonneau and deck lid in just 14 seconds. Every panel on the VV is made from carbon fibre, casing the Aston’s VH bonded aluminum structure which is 14% stiffer than the DBS Volante. With new spring and damper settings, the driver features include stability control, ‘positive torque control’ and adaptive damping which comes in 3 settings: normal, sport and track. Lighter 398 MM Brembo carbon ceramic brakes in the front and 360 MM discs in the back should be more resistant to fading.
With a starting price of £199,995, the Volante will be available in the UK at the end of the year.
