Toyota Mulling Sedan Version of GT 86The Toyota GT 86 platform cars have already become icons in the automotive world, soon enough however, the GT 86 sedan will be here.
Autoblog’s sources from down under have reported that Toyota may be working on a 4-door version of the already iconic GT 86 platform vehicle. Though doubts still remain whether the sedan version of the car would come from Scion or Subaru.
The already iconic GT 86 developed by Toyota and Subaru.
The Australian site Motoring, taking remarks from Toyota’s chief engineer Tetsuya Tada’s blog and a rendering from Japanese magazine Holiday Auto, rumor is that that the sedan version would have a wheelbase that’s just 4 inches longer than the current GT 86 vehicles. That’s not all, supposedly the 4-door variant would have a more powerful engine than the current 2.0-liter flat four. Rather than the 200 HP in the present engine, the sedan would put out 268 HP! This is rumored to come from the Hybrid R setup shown at the Franfurt Motor Show.
Motoring also added that the sedan version is set to be released around late 2015 or early 2016, within the price range of the current GT 86. Amazing!
