Top Gear Admits to Accidentally Burning Mazda Furai Concept Top Gear owns up to it's part in burning the Mazda Furai down.
Every (true) petrol head will tell you that the greatest thing on TV now and for the past couple of decades is the original Top Gear (UK version, obviously). The organization collectively goes through hundreds of car reviews every year; and brilliantly so. So it was just a matter of time before something or other went awry.
The Mazda Furai concept… before TG burned it down.
Just this week, Top Gear Magazine came out and finally admitted that the gorgeous Mazda Furai concept (unveiled in December 2007) was lost at their hands. How you may ask? Apparently the Furai burnt to the ground in the testing process back in 2008.
The Mazda Furai; before and after.
Top Gear originally posted a statement on their website regarding the demise of the Furai:
“Forgive us, for we have sinned. Top Gear is responsible for the untimely demise of the quite remarkable Mazda Furai Concept, and we’re very, very sorry. Find out how (if that picture hasn’t clued you in…) in our bumper anniversary issue, and try not to hate us too much.”
As sad as it it, I think we’ll just have to forgive TG (I mean what else are we gonna do without Jezza, Hamster and Capt. Slow?). Check out the link below for full story by Jalopnik.
