The Lexus LC500 coupe makes its global debut at the North American International Auto Show. This version more closely resembles the production model that will be available for purchase from Lexus, unlike the LF-LC Concept that was showcased in 2012. The LC500, with its modern styling, upgraded performance and first-class craftsmanship is positioned to be Lexus’ flagship model and will pave the path for its future vehicles.

The most striking feature of the LC500 is by far the exterior design. Bold is an understatement. It retains many of the cues found in the original concept which is commendable on Lexus’ part. From top to bottom, the LC500 is refined with: a glass roof (carbon fibre is an option), distinctive grille, “L”-shaped daytime running lights with Triple LED headlamps, and integrated air dams. The rear of the LC500 carries over the futuristic theme from the rest of the car and includes a diffuser and optional active rear wing for improved aerodynamics. The interior of the car is just as clean and classy as the exterior, and maintains a futuristic flow throughout the cabin.

In terms of performance, the LC500 comes with the same naturally aspirated 5.0 Liter V8 found in the GS-F and RC-F due to the fact that this motor provides smooth and linear power delivery. From this configuration, 467HP and 389lb.-ft. of torque is produced, propelling the LC500 to 60mph in less than 4.5seconds. Coupled to the engine is a 10 speed automatic transmission (the first in a luxury automobile) that provides power to the rear wheels.

Overall, the LC500 couples functionality with style.
