On the heels of Ford revealing their 2015 Ford Mustang at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, Ford has remained relatively quiet while it awaits its production of this next-gen pony car. Among the base and GT models, Ford has been working on a higher-performance version wearing a special badge.

This new addition to the Mustang lineup was spotted on the Nurburgring, a rare spectacle indeed as previous generations of the Mustang were hardly seen testing on it. This new Mustang will likely find its place in-between the previous-generation’s Boss 302 and the Shelby GT500. This performance version will likely be christened the GT350. But it has also been rumoured that Ford could bring back the Cobra or Mach 1 title, a homage to the simpler days of the late 60s.

Just from the photos alone, it is easy to tell that the new car has a wider stance over the stock 2015 Mustang, which hints at an increased power output. A classic V8 mill is likely, though we do not have any information on whether any turbocharging or supercharging will be added. Other exterior clues include vented front fenders, a front lip spoiler, quad-tip exhaust, a rear diffuser, and large carbon ceramic brake rotors.

This Mustang will likely fit the bill for the Mustang community since the reveal of the new generation of Mustang. Many had been creating renders and dreaming up what the new performance version may look like. All we need to wait for now is an official release from Ford. More specs and details will likely be released as we near the end of 2014.
