Prius Family Can't Catch a 'Brake' oyota announced its latest Prius-related recall on June 5th, following issues connected to their brakes.
After a more than 1.5 million unit recall for steering shaft issues this year, following exhaust concerns and other steering problems dating back as far as 2011, it seems the Prius family still can’t catch a “brake”- literally. Toyota announced its latest Prius-related recall on June 5th, following issues connected to their brakes.
The voluntary recall is effecting 87,000 vehicles, an undetermined mix of 2010 Prius models, as well as Lexus HS 250h hybrids. According to Toyota, the problem concerns the brake pressure accumulator, which “may develop a fatigue crack on an internal part due to vibration.” The automaker says it has no reports of accidents or injuries connected to the issue at this time, but is notifying affected vehicle owners via email.
