The next-generation Mazda MX-5 is rumoured to debut at the 25th anniversary for the car at the New York auto show.
Mazda is celebrating the 25th birthday of the Miata MX-5 and this year at the New York auto show, the automaker will be hosting its largest birthday party.
Mazda will showcase 15 of its favourite MX-5 vehicles that range from race cars to concepts. According to Autoweek, the Japanese automaker will be debuting the new MX-5 at the New York auto show. The new generation was created in conjunction with Alfa Romeo and will make a small sports car for the Italian automaker as well.
The new MX-5 will have the SkyActive technology and will produce about 170 horsepower. Mazda is aiming for the car to weigh about 2,200 pounds, which will make it around 200 pounds lighter than the current model.
