Although news has already been circulating about the new Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray, recent online activity suggests that the project may be further out of the wrapping than initially anticipated.

After previously setting expectations for the C7’s new 6.2-liter LT1 V8 performance at 450 horsepower and 450 foot-pounds of torque, it appears that some on the Corvette C7 forum site feel that GM is selling the model short. The PDF scans that were supposedly leaked to the forum suggest that the C7 may in fact bring 455 horsepower and 460 foot-pounds of torque to the automotive table. That’s a 25 horsepower and 36 foot-pound increase over the current model’s 6.2-liter LS3 V8, for those that don’t keep those kind of facts handy.

At this time it’s not clear whether these PDF scans are 100% genuine, but it does appear that only the coupe will benefit from the slightly more powerful specs. At the same time fuel economy numbers are still anyone’s guess for all versions of the C7, but if GM stays true to their earlier statements, the Stingray can still be expected to improve on the current model’s EPA highway rating of 26 miles per gallon.
