Mercedes is getting to present a brand new compact SUV at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show, with four models scheduled to appear in its new GLA lineup.
The new models have horsepower ranging from 136 to 211, running the spectrum of eco-friendly to powerful, including models like the GLA 200 CDI, whose 136 horsepower diesel engine emits just 114 grams of CO2 per kilometer, and the GLA 250 4MATIC, which goes from 0-100 km/h in just 6.5 seconds.
The GLA 250 4MATIC (the most powerful of the new models) also brings with it a top speed of 235 km/h, and will be the first vehicle equipped with the next-gen 4MATIC system, which ensures an even distribution of power to all four wheels.
Under the assisted driving category, Mercedes is offering accident prevention assistance, alerting drivers of potential collisions when moving at speeds of 7km/h or over, and automatically slows down the car when its speed exceeds 200 km/h. The system also helps prevent accidents when the car is in reverse.
The first pre-orders for the vehicles can be placed in November, for delivery in 2014.
