Participants must think fast for a shot at winning a high-octane experience in Montreal).
Mercedes-Benz is the official automotive sponsor of the 2019 Formula 1 Pirelli Grand Prix du Canada in Montreal and Mercedes-Benz Canada has come up with an online contest called the Pro Reaction Challenge as a way of promoting this sponsorship.
It’s no secret that racing drivers have incredibly quick reflexes. They have to, as without them things could go a bit pear-shaped when hitting a patch of standing water at over 200 km/h while racing in the rain on the ragged edge of adhesion. What many don’t know is that professional drivers often train their reflexes with little exercises that test and score their reaction times, hand-eye coordination and stamina.
The Pro Reaction Challenge draws inspiration from some of these exercises by being an online application that tests participants in a half-minute game of reflexes. When the contest closes the Canadian user with the highest score will win a prize package that includes round-trip airfare to Montreal for June 5 and 6, two nights’ hotel accomodation, a Mercedes-AMG hot lap around the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve with a professional driver on June 6 and access to a special event on the 6 to watch Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport driver Valtteri Bottas complete a live reaction challenge.
Canadians wishing to win the prize package might want to hurry over to proreactionchallenge.ca as the contest closes on May 28. The online challenge is only accessible on touch-devices, such as smartphones and tablets and while Mercedes-Benz Canada allows unlimited practices, challenge participants get only one attempt to set their best possible score.
