Mercedes is classing up an old auto-modding favourite- the automaker recently announced that a new illuminated Three-Pointed Star emblem will be available as a dealer-installed option for some of their models. Making some reminiscent of the old Lumi Logos that were popular a few years back, the Mercedes logo looks to be a bit more refined, utilizing LED and light-tube technology to illuminate the classic emblem, which even light up when a key fob is used to unlock the vehicles.

So far the list of models available with this option is restricted to the 2014 E-Class, 2013+ GL-Class, 2012+ M-Class, and 2006+ CLS-Class, but if the star takes off for Mercedes, there’s no telling what we might see next.
