McLaren Working On 12C Variation To Battle 458 SpecialeIf the McLaren 12C isn't fast enough for you, worry not; McLaren is working on it's most intense 12C to date. Look out Ferrar 458 Speciale!
Some time ago, Ferrari came out with a new variation of 458; called the 458 Speciale. The Speciale’s 4.5L V8 put out 605 hp (that’s 35 more than the original) all while cutting 90 Kg from it’s weight. Along with this, the hyper edition of what was already one of the best handling supercars on the road, featured numerous other technical innovations (such as the Side Slip Angle Control to stop the car from slipping out in a hard turn). All this and more put the Speciale in a league of its own. Now however, McLaren is looking to bring out a new edition of the 12C to compete with the 458 Speciale.
The new 12C will be the most hardcore version yet and will battle the 458 Speciale.
The new version of the 12C (after we’ve already seen the 12C Spider, the GT3 racing version, the Can-AM edition and the GT Sprint) will naturally see several changes similar to what’s been happening with the 458. We can expect to see some weight loss on the vehicle, along with the horsepower upped to around 650 from the 3.8 L twin-turbo V8. Apparently, we’ll also see the vehicle feature sharpened breaking from standard Carbon-ceramic brakes and improved aerodynamics. It should be exciting to see how this new 12C holds up to the current champ; the 458 Speciale.
The 458 Speciale is one of the best handling supercars… made better.
