McLaren P1 Might Have Completed the ‘Ring At 6 Minutes 30 Seconds

Hot Damn the P1 is Quick!Seriously! 6 Minutes 30!

Remember that video McLaren made of their glorious P1 going around the nurburgring in late 2013? Yes, that one, the 2 minute long teaser video of their attempt at the ring. While McLaren still hasn’t released official times, we did speculate that the time was somewhere around the 6 minute and 40 seconds. Apparently, a source from Autocar states that the actual time the McLaren did it in was a cool 6 minute 30 something. A time that is without a shadow of a doubt nothing short of incredible considering Porsche’s 918 Spyder was just shy of the 7 minute mark at 6 minutes and 57 seconds.   Still though, McLaren hasn’t confirmed anything as they are probably still waiting on some rivals to announce their times *ahem* Ferrari *ahem*, but if the 6 minute 30 something time is true, we’re sure it’s only a matter of time before the engineers at McLaren announce it officially. As competition between the companies heat up, and technology progresses, we’re finally getting the chance to see the potential of hybrid performance cars.
