New Lexus RC F Coupe comparable to BMW and has more power!
Bragging rights are in order for Lexus after the release of the all-new RC F Coupe. The RC F, which just debuted in Detroit, is comparable to the 2015 BMW M4. Similar to the Lexus IS F, the RC F has more of an aggressive look and what’s under the hood is just as bold as the body. The new coupe is powered by a 5.0-litre V8 engine, and Lexus said it has more than 450 horsepower and more than 383 pound-feet of torque.
The RC F’s power rockets up more than the 417 horsepower IS F, but also the new M4, which produces 425 hp. Lexus said for the first time in their performance engines, the RC F uses the Atkinson cycle at cruising speeds for better fuel economy and switches to the Otto cycle at a higher rpm to develop impressive performance levels.
The rear-wheel-drive only coupe will not be offered with a manual transmission option, but rather an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Looking at the car, the RC F is bold and is definitely an attention seeker. The fenders are wider to accommodate the 19-inch wheels. The new spindle grille, which takes up a giant portion of the front, also adds to the wow factor of the already stylish body. Like the performance Lexus LFA, the RC F has an active rear spoiler in the trunk that rises at speeds of 80 kilometres per hour and lowers at 40 km/hr.
