The Mustang gets a 21st century make overThe 2015 model promises a lot of new upgrades
The all-new 2015 Ford Mustang promises a generous number of upgrades that should bring the world’s original pony car back into the 21st century.
The new model will continue to be offered with a V6 engine churning out 305 HP and 280 LB-FT of torque. However, Ford will offer an EcoBoost turbocharged 4-cylinder as the Mustang’s mid-level engine which, despite the reduced amount of cylinders, should produce 350 HP and 300+ LB-FT of torque.
The 5.0L Coyote V8 will continue to power the 2015 Mustang GT, but drivers will get a power growth to 450 HP.
Reports state that Ford will be dropping the Shelby moniker for the Cobra nameplate instead, however nothing has been confirmed. The current Shelby GT500 comes with a supercharged V8 engine which probably won’t be found in the next-gen Cobra, but rather something more stand out performance-wise.
Finally, the 2015 model will also be replacing its classic solid rear axle for a more modern independent setup.
The 2015 Mustang will be revealed sometime in the next year.
