Dodge Faces an Uncertain Future

Dodge Models May Be Slim Pickings in the Coming Years With many of its classic models (such as the Ram) being split off into separate lines, and others set to switch to other names under the Chrysler-Fiat brand, it looks like Dodge may have soon be offering a less than versatile fleet- to say the least.

A recent Ward’s Auto report has the future of Dodge looking less than optimistic. With many of its classic models (such as the Ram) being split off into separate lines, and others set to switch to other names under the Chrysler-Fiat brand, it looks like Dodge may have soon be offering a less than versatile fleet- to say the least.

Ward’s reports that after the release of the Avenger next year the model won’t be replaced, a gaping mid-sized hole in a brand already spread fairly thin. Additional (although as yet unconfirmed) reports also suggest that an additional two models are slated to move over to the Chrysler banner. This would leave Dodge with just four of its own models.

Chrysler has said it is trying to tweak redundancies within its minivan offerings, so it’s possible the well-known Dodge Caravan could be one of those making it’s way over to the Chrysler brand in the coming years.
