What happens when two giants collaborate?The result is unlike anything either has ever seen
The BMW Pinifarini Gran Lusso Coupe is a mouthful and the first collaboration between BMW and Pinifarini. Unveilbed at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, it is quoted to be the “interpretation of a luxurious BMW Coupé as seen through the eyes of Pininfarina.”
The full-bodied missile sits on 21″ wheels and with a long wheelbase, makes for short overhands. Everything about the car is sharper including the headlights which have gone from round cat eyes to dihedral. Under the hood, a V12 sits behind a twin-kidney grille in matte-sheen aluminum and high-gloss black. The same aluminium can be found in the taillights with the lenses designed to let air flow through them.
Seating four, the cockpit is canted toward the driver with Foglizzo leather in black and tobacco brown. 48,000 year old Kauri wood from New Zealand and deep pile carpets on the floor add to the luxury with the white LEDs setting off a patterned wool head and roof liner.
