The BMW 4 Series Coupe Is HereBMW has released yet another vehicle, this time they've given the Gran Coupe treatment to the 4-Series coupe.
It seems BWM is not even close to slowing down it’s release of new vehicles. After the 3 Series/4 Series split, the 1 Series developing into the 2 Series and the numerous GT models, the German automaker still has a few more tricks up it’s sleeves. And now, they give us the 4 Series Gran Coupe. Now one may ask, where exactly does this car fit in, in the BMW lineup? To be honest, we’re not quite sure. It seems smaller than the 3 series GT, but bigger than the 4 Series coupe and it’s got 4 doors & a hatchback. Then, there’s the styling. One look at this car and you’ll think; thank god BMW decided to release this thing. It is magnificent. Sure it doesn’t stray far from the 4 Series Coupe/3 Series Sedan styling theme, but that’s a good thing!
Taking hints from the new 4-Series and the 3-Series, the 4-Series Gran Coupe is definitely a looker.
Arguably, the 4-Series Coupe is one of the best looking Coupes BMW has given us and now it’s got just two more doors. And given that it’s based on the Coupe, you still have the option of getting this car in the 435i variant (with a 3.0 L 6-cylinder turbo putting out 300 HP and 300 Lb.ft torque routed to the rear wheel). And seeing as the 4 Series Coupe is considered a step up from the outgoing 3-Series coupe in terms of driving dynamics, we can easily expect the same level of performance in the 4 door variant. Plus, for those of us looking to carry more than just two adults comfortably, the Gran Coupe will be a very practical option without loss of styling and performance (and don’t forget that extremely practical hatchback boot). So maybe it’s hard to see where exactly this car fits into the BMW lineup but clearly this vehicle still has a lot to offer.
Good looks, practicality and great BMW driving dynamics; the 4-Series Gran Coupe is shaping up to be a great car.
