Formula One Neo News

• Michael Schumacher is indeed returning to sub for Felipe Massa in the Ferrari F60 starting with the Euro GP. Massa however, is anxious to get back to racing fearing a permanent replacement is possible. It will bear watching now, Michael and Kimi, go head-to-head at this up-coming race. Maybe the next event should have Michael go head-to-head against Felipe Massa if he is ready and sit Kimi for a race.
• Some of the current F1 teams are NOT in favor of Schumi get special treatment and being allowed to break the testing ban in order to get time in the F60. Some argue that he needs to get familiar with the latest car, while others point out that Jaime Alguersuari did not get such a test before his Hungarian GP debut.
• Nelson Piquet Jr. is apparently ousted from his Renault F1 drive and leaves swinging and slinging insults as he goes calling boss Flavio Briatore the “executioner”! Junior can you also say “under-achiever”?
• Meanwhile junior’s father, Nelson Piquet Sr. a triple World Champion, claims to be interested in starting a GP team by taking over the Sauber outfit, now on the market. Piquet Junior claims that this was the worst move of his career and is anxious to get back where he can recover his lost reputation. In my opinion as in any other career, if you “bad-mouth” your departing employer then NO one will hire you in the future because of your derogatory reputation! Keep that in mind Junior if dad doesn’t buy you a GP team!
• Several would-be GP teams are crying foul at the FIA over the requirement of using the Cosworth engine in order to get an approval to compete next year. I believe the FIA has a proper stance in that an independent supplier is required in order for new teams to come on board. With departing BMW reneging on their claim to “be happy to supply another team” it seems as if the FIA is actually trying to do something right by the sport. There are always going to be whiners about any criteria, apparently including David Richards.
• Team Renault as we know, has been ban from competing in the European Grand Prix later this month. In the latest turn of events, the Spanish Federation has been critical of this FIA maneuver rightfully so as it severely punishes a team for a mistake that has happened to others before and also deprives ticketholders from seeing their idol, Fernando Alonso; compete as well as whoever is his team mate. Why not just fine them 100 million Euros? Ha hahahaha.
• Finally, it appears as though the Concorde Agreement has been signed already. Is peace anywhere to be had? Stay tuned…
