The next-generation Nissan GT-R is rumoured to have an 800-horsepower engine, and its a hybrid too!
Rumours of the newest Nissan GT-R suggest that the 2016 model could debut with a hybrid powertrain.
It is suggested that the car will have a redesigned 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine good for 580 horsepower. The engine will probably be mated to a Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS), which is said to be co-developed between Nismo and the Formula One Williams team. KERS will allow the engine to have an extra 250 horsepower.
With the hybrid powertrain, it will be able to go from a stop to 100 kilometres per hour in just 2.7 seconds topping out at 340 km/h. The current GT-R is only good for 600 horsepower, so the rumoured hybrid could possibly be a beast on the track.
