2015 BMW M3 Sedan Released at Detroit Auto ShowThe new BMW M3 Sedan is here, and it seems glorious; all 425-horsepower of it!
Last year, BMW decided to split up its 3 series platform into the the sedan; which retains the 3-Series title and the coupe/convertible; which has been termed the 4-Series. This means that the next iteration of the M4 will be the replacement to the outgoing M3 Coupe and the next vehicle to carry the M3 badge will be a sedan. And that sedan is now here!
It’s nice to see that BMW hasn’t shyed away from it’s aggressive styling on it’s M-sport vehicles.
BMW unveiled the 2015 BMW M3 Sedan at the Detroit Auto Show today, and it looks furious! The new M3 Sedan shares the same 3.0-L six-cylinder motor as what you’ll find in the M4 Coupe; putting out 425 horsepower and 406 lb.ft of torque. The best part is, unlike most other automakers in this segments, BMW is still giving consumers the option between an old-fashioned 6 speed manual transmission and an automatic transmission. However, the auto transmission offered will probably be a serious consideration for true petrol heads considering this vehicle as it’s BMW’s brilliant seven speed M dual-clutch transmission which would give this car a 0-60 mph time of just 3.9 seconds.
As for the styling, the M3 sedan’s very definitely based off of the current 3-series sedan platform. However, as expected, there’s serious aesthetic styling to give the vehicle a significantly more sporty appeal. From almost any angle, it’s clear that this car shares very little with it’s original, tame 3-series platform. From the bulged hood, to the significantly flared front ducts to those amazing looking 19″ wheels, this car will not go unnoticed.
